Swap Your WRX to an STI Drivetrain the Right Way
If you're swapping a TY85 6-speed STI transmission into your 2015–2021 WRX (FA20DIT) or 2022-2025 WRX (FA24DIT) , you'll quickly run into a problem — the stock exhaust hanger bracket won’t work. The WRX J-pipe exhaust exits on the driver’s side, but the STI transmission is set up for a passenger-side mount. That mismatch leaves your exhaust hanging… literally.
This custom bracket fixes that.
I designed it specifically to solve this issue after scanning both the WRX exhaust and STI transmission in the car. The result? A clean, bolt-on solution that puts the exhaust hanger right where it needs to be — no weird angles, no interference, no guesswork
Fitment Note: This bracket is designed to work with the WRX crossmember. It will not fit with the STI crossmember, as interference issues occur when attempting to use the STI unit.
