Phone Cubby Orginizer

Keeping my phone secure and within reach while driving has always been a challenge, especially in the center cubby of my Subaru VA WRX. To solve this, I used 3D scanning to ensure a perfect fit and 3D printing to create a sleek, functional mount. The result is a seamless solution that integrates into the dashboard without requiring any modifications.

This design focuses on creating a small cubby organizer tailored to fit into a car dashboard. The primary goal was to solve the issue of a phone sliding around during sharp corners while keeping it conveniently plugged into the car’s infotainment system. The design is specifically made to securely hold the phone in place, preventing unwanted movement and ensuring easy access during drives.

To ensure a perfect fit, the project utilized 3D scanning to capture the precise measurements of the dashboard’s interior space. This allowed for a highly customized design that integrates seamlessly into the existing space without altering the car’s aesthetics. The final design was then 3D printed, making it a quick and efficient manufacturing process. The choice of 3D printing also allowed for rapid prototyping, enabling adjustments as needed for a perfect fit and functionality.

This project showcases the versatility of 3D scanning and printing in creating tailored solutions for real-world applications, ensuring both practicality and ease of use for everyday driving.
